Amigo Live – The closest thing to being there!

Amigo Live is AmigoLatino’s live video conferencing channel that helps bring families and communities together (like affordable Telepresence for the family market). Amigo Live makes it possible for thousands of distant families to reconnect live and maintain those essential family ties, regardless of distance – “it is the closest thing to being there with them!”

The best thing about Amigo Live is that it is both affordable and easy to use and provides unique memorable experiences to those that use it. Moreover, it is available through a comprehensive network of offices in several of the main cities in the U.S. and Latin America (see our coverage).

The following video coverage of AmigoLatino by CNN helps to illustrate the relevance of our services to under-served markets:

  1. I have seen the CISCO’s Telepresence TV commercials and realized Amigo Latino’s potential. There are 30 million Hispanics in the US. And, more than half are recent immigrants that have been in the US for many years without being able to see their close relatives in their countries of origin. I know people who have not seen their siblings, children and parents in more than 5 years. They use the phone to communicate and have seen that it is not enough for them. We all try to see our close relatives at least once a year during Thanksgiving.

There is no broadband where their families reside. Their relatives live in very small communities (rancherias) that have only one phone located in the town’s convenience store. This phone serves the whole community.

I believe Amigo Latino will help immigrants by letting them be in touch with their loved ones. In fact, I believe that Amigo Latino makes immigrant workers more productive. They get less distracted thinking about their relatives. They can confirm that the money sent to their relatives has arrived well and is used wisely.
